PIGEONS REBOUND FROM EARLY THREE GOAL
DEFICIT TO GAIN AN IMPORTANT 7 - 4 VICTORY
July 26, 2010
Not only have the Pigeons suffered back to back losses in their last
two outings but their debut of the yellow jerseys was a bust. Hoping
to rebound against the last place Procrastinators, the early prognosis
was not good for the Dirty Birds. Down 3 - 0 in the first six minutes
of the game, the Pigeons appeared as if they were going to go 0 - 2 in
the new jerseys.

Threes were in the air for Brian Howe as he celebrated his 33th
birthday a few hours early. Howe scored three goals while adding an
assist. John Zelko had another solid performance as he scored twice
and was credited with two helpers. The four point evening made
Zelko the new single season points leader for the Pigeons in the
D League at 31. J. D. Mathers, who held the previous mark at 30,
set a milestone of his own as he reached the 550 point mark.

Mark Clowney added to his team lead in the assist category as he
dished out three helpers. On the season, Clowney has 11, one ahead
of Brian Howe. Craig Kemmlein and Nate Voss made it to the
scoresheet as Kemmlein "top shelved" a scoring opporunity and Nate
Voss walked away with an assist. Espo was a Wall after the first six
minutes of the game. Sheads should have stayed home. He sucked.

The Pigeons win over the Rumble Fish in the season finale linked with
a Warlocks loss would put the Birds in second place.
RETIRED BIRDS
STREAKY SEASON CONTINUES FOR PIGEONS AS THEY
SUFFER SECOND STRAIGHT LOSS
July 19, 2010
The roller coaster season has been anything but fun for the Dark
Pigeons. After starting the season with bookcase wins between a
loss, the Pigeons have either been on a winning or losing streak. The
Pigeons put together a recent four game winning streak that put them
within two points of the top spot in the league. Since that run, they
have faltered as of late, losing two straight. The disappointing 6 - 1
setback against the top team in the league, McGrath's, was followed
by Monday's loss to the Warlocks.

The Pigeons dominated the first two games against the Warlocks, as
they combined for an 11 - 2 goal margin. Monday's contest was a
train wreck as the Dirty Birds relinquished a 2 - 1 lead, only to lose
the game, 5 - 3. John Zelko did set a Pigeons D League record for
most goals in a season as he improved his tally to 20. J. D. Mathers
moved within one point of the 550 career point mark as he scored a
goal and added an assist. While Jim Esposito played solid in net for
the Birds, the mental breakdowns across the board ultimately cost the
Pigeons a chance to clinch a playoff spot.

The Punishers 2 - 2 tie against the Rumble Fish secured the playoff
spot for the Pigeons. While the Rumble Fish are four points out with
two games left, the Pigeons hold the head to head advantage, which
determines the tie breaker.
