The Dark Pigeons regular season unbeaten streak of 28 games

(23 - 0 - 5) came to an end as the Birds started out the Summer 2005
session at 0 - 3 - 0. The Pigeons made a mid season run as they went
an impressive 5 - 0 - 2. However, with the playoffs in their sight, the
Dark Pigeons lost critical games to the Steelheads and Skip Jacks to
end their hopes of defending their Winter 2005 Cup. This season
marks the first time in seven opportunities that the Birds did not make
a C League playoff berth.
